About STAT, the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique.

In 1958, the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique (STAT) was founded in the UK by teachers who were trained personally by FM Alexander. STAT’s first aim is to ensure the highest standards of teacher training and professional practice.

Teaching members of STAT:

- Are registered to teach the Technique aftercompleting
a three-year, full-time training course approved by the Society.

- Are required to adhere to the Society’s published Code of
Professional Conduct and Competence, and are covered by professional indemnity insurance.
